NCC Decision on LLW Application

Northamptonshire County Council has resolved to turn down plans submitted, which would have allowed us to accept waste with small amounts of radioactivity at our existing hazardous landfill facility in East Northamptonshire.

The County’s Development Control Committee met on 16 March 2010 to consider the application, which their planning officers had recommended for approval. However, the Councillors have resolved to refuse the application.

We will now be considering how best to take these important proposals forward.
