Environmental, Social and Governance

Augean is committed to meeting its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) obligations. ESG criteria are a set of selected standards for a company’s operations to demonstrate sustainability and stability.

To avoid the worst impacts of climate change, the international community set a goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050. As governments, cities and individual companies plan for the future, it’s clear that transitioning to a sustainable world is a challenge that we must face together.

Since the company’s inception Augean has sought to follow best practice in environmental stewardship, social responsibility and corporate governance and the continuous development of ESG standards is an integral part of the business growth. This is demonstrated through our Company Values, policies, management systems and processes.

We explain our operating practices and disclose our performance against selected criteria which are reported in our annual Corporate Sustainability Report (CSR). We report similar data to external organisations such as Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR); Energy Savings and Opportunities Scheme (ESOS) and GRESB Infrastructure assessment standards.

GRESB Infrastructure standards

GRESB is an independent organisation providing validated ESG performance data and peer benchmarks for investors to improve business intelligence, industry engagement and decision-making.

In our first year, we submitted our entry for GRESB Assessment and scored a respectable 75 out of 100. 2023 was our second year of reporting, and our score increased to 95 out of 100 making us a 5-Star rated organisation and ranked 2nd worldwide in the category of Environmental Services: Waste Treatment.
