We are pleased to announce that GrantScape now manages applications for both the Augean North Community Fund and the Augean South Community Fund, providing a single, streamlined process for community organisations seeking funding support.
Since 2004, Augean has contributed more than £12 million through the scheme, helping community groups and voluntary organisations bring valuable projects to life. Funding has supported a wide range of initiatives, including village hall improvements, outdoor recreation facilities, biodiversity projects, heritage conservation and sustainability programmes, all designed to enhance local quality of life.
SUPPORTING LOCAL COMMUNITIES
The funding is available to eligible not-for-profit organisations, charities, community groups, parish councils, sports clubs, schools and other organisations that deliver projects for public benefit. Supported projects can include:
- Community centres and village halls
- Sports and recreational facilities
- Public playgrounds and green spaces
- Nature conservation and biodiversity projects
- Heritage restoration initiatives
- Cycle paths, parks and public amenities
These projects help create lasting improvements that enhance local communities and provide accessible facilities for residents.
Augean North Community Fund
The Augean North Community Fund supports eligible projects located within five miles of Augean’s Port Clarence landfill site in Stockton-on-Tees. Approximately £600,000 is available annually through the fund, with grants typically ranging from £10,000 to £100,000.
Augean South Community Fund
This fund supports projects located within ten miles of Augean’s ENRMF, Northamptonshire and Thornhaugh near Peterborough landfill sites. Grants of up to £50,000 are available for projects that meet the eligibility criteria and deliver environmental or community benefits.
